Cascadia Metals is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant in our Delta, BC branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring the efficiency of the office's day-to-day operations. This role will be the "go-to" person for completing administrative requests and projects, including providing support as needed to all departments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of work and likes to assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Meeting customers with enthusiasm and assisting with their inquiries.
  • Accounts Receivable: Cheque deposits, credit card payment processing through Moneris.
  • Applying AR payments into Steel Plus as well as releasing orders with payment.
  • Providing statements of accounts and helping with AR questions.
  • Accounts Payable contact for the branch: Pre-approving freight-related and office orders payables, gathering all payables for managers to approve on a weekly basis.
  • Customer Service: PO processing, creating sales orders, providing updates to customers/sales reps, responding to phone and email inquiries, and inventory lookups.
  • Responsible for ordering office and warehouse supplies as needed.
  • Providing end-of-day reports of all outbound shipments and ensuring all freight costs are divided appropriately to all orders.
  • Providing assistance to staff, managers, and sales reps.
  • Performing standard clerical duties as assigned, including faxing, copying, mailing, and communicating with other branches.
  • Handling courier services, receiving, and distributing individual mail.
  • Collecting and completing expenses for the office and select personnel.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in an administrative or receptionist role.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an office environment.
