You will apply sound financial judgement and adopt a flexible approach in providing consultative support to leaders across organizational divisions. Under the direction of the Manager, Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for complex analysis of accounts, preparing reports for management, cash management, accurate financial record keeping and reporting, and providing sound advice and recommendations.Key responsibilities:Ensures timely and accurate close of the general ledger and timely compliance with reporting to the Board, management, all government organizations, and service providers Ensures month-end tasks are completed on time and with accuracy by the Financial Reporting staff Ensures financial reports are timely, accurate, consistent, and meet the requirements of CLBC, the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG), Financial Information Act, etc. Ensure the financial statements and notes are prepared in accordance with the accounting requirements the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act of BC. Prepares audit working papers and liaises with internal and/or external auditors. Designs and prepares financial reports for management Provides financial management support, advice, and expertise to management team Reconciles complex general ledger accounts related to the IF (Individualized Funding) program by performing tasks such as reviewing and confirming transactions, following up on anomalies and taking corrective action by preparing journal entries Ensures contracts are prepared in compliance to the IF policy and contract renewal guidelines. Assists in correcting erroneous contracts by providing specific instructions on each individual case Assists agents to understand the IF program, their agreements and responsibilities, as well as providing instructions on completing the financial reporting Designs, creates, and leads testing of new systems or system enhancements, identifies tests discrepancies, provides feedback and recommendations Provide guidance and instruction on alignment between business and system requirements Establish test scripts and test criteria and manages a team of testers, Works with Corporate Accounting Services a division of the Office of the Comptroller to resolve CFS and reporting module issuesWhat you'll bring: A professional accounting designation such as CPA/CMA, CPA/CGA or CPA/CA, with five years related experienceExperience with, and understanding of, financial and payroll business processes Experience in working with confidential and/or sensitive informationExperience in project managementExperience in preparing financial statementsA relevant combination of education and experience may be consideredWe're also looking for:As a standout candidate, you are a detail-oriented professional who brings strong communication skills and a solid foundation in accounting and mathematics.
