Prestige Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced, hands-on hospitality leader to join the team as General Manager of the Prestige Kamloops Hotel.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a well-established property while joining a growing, BC-based hospitality organization that offers genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.
The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with broad hotel operations experience, sound business judgment, and the ability to balance guest experience, team development, financial performance, and day-to-day operational excellence.
We are open to experienced General Managers as well as accomplished Assistant General Managers, Hotel Managers, or Directors of Operations who are ready to take the next step into full property leadership.
Candidates currently located in Kamloops or the Thompson-Okanagan are encouraged to apply, and relocation may also be considered for the right individual.
The Opportunity
As General Manager, you will oversee the overall performance and day-to-day operation of the Prestige Kamloops Hotel, an established property offering guest rooms and suites, food and beverage services, meeting space, recreation amenities, and a range of services for both business and leisure travellers.
You will provide leadership across the hotel, working closely with department leaders and frontline team members to ensure a high standard of guest service, strong employee engagement, effective cost management, and smooth daily operations.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the operation, developing people, solving problems, and driving results.
Key Responsibilities
The General Manager will be responsible for:
- Providing overall leadership and operational direction for the hotel
- Leading, coaching, and developing department leaders and frontline teams
- Creating a positive, accountable, and service-focused workplace culture
- Ensuring exceptional guest experiences across all areas of the property
- Overseeing front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and other hotel operations
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, and workforce planning
- Managing labour, operating costs, and other controllable expenses
- Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, revenue performance, and overall financial results
- Monitoring hotel performance and identifying opportunities to improve revenue, efficiency, and guest satisfaction
- Working closely with sales, group business, and event-related activities
- Ensuring property standards, preventative maintenance, and operational requirements are consistently maintained
- Supporting workplace health and safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Building strong relationships with corporate leadership, employees, guests, vendors, and community partners
- Identifying opportunities to continuously improve hotel operations and the overall guest experience
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Previous leadership experience within the hotel or hospitality industry
- Experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Operations, or similar senior hotel leadership role
- Broad exposure to hotel operations across multiple departments
- Strong people leadership and team development skills
- The ability to coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable while maintaining a positive culture
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A hands-on, solutions-oriented leadership style
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labour, costs, revenue, or property-level financial performance
- A strong understanding of guest service and hotel operating standards
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and a high level of personal accountability
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related field is considered an asset but is not required.
