Benefits:
A well-established, privately held real estate development and construction organization is seeking an accomplished Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a significant, long-term pipeline of high-rise residential development projects across Southwestern Ontario.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who has already delivered major residential towers from pre-construction through occupancy and close-out and is ready to take broader ownership of construction strategy, people, processes, performance, and project execution.
With a 15+ year development pipeline, this role offers the opportunity to help shape how an established organization builds, scales, and delivers its future portfolio.
The Opportunity
Reporting to a senior executive, the Construction Manager will provide overall leadership and direction to the construction function, with accountability for the performance of both project management and field operations teams.
You will play a central role in establishing best practices, developing people, improving systems, managing risk, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to a consistently high standard.
This is not simply a project-level position. The successful candidate will influence the broader construction strategy and help build the team, processes, and infrastructure required to support a substantial pipeline of future development.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and oversight to the construction team, creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Help develop and execute both near-term and long-range construction and business plans.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned and best practices across field operations and project management.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate construction personnel while creating a strong succession and talent-development pipeline.
- Implement and continuously improve construction processes related to budgeting, procurement, scheduling, contract administration, quality, safety, and risk management.
- Provide oversight of projects from initial planning and design through construction, phased occupancy, turnover, and close-out.
- Lead design-assist, constructability, coordination, and design-completion initiatives.
- Oversee project budgets, cash-flow forecasting, schedules, procurement strategies, and monthly reporting.
- Support and oversee contract negotiations, subcontractor procurement, and contract administration.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, resource allocation, and equipment planning across the portfolio.
- Maintain strong safety, quality-control, and risk-management programs.
- Oversee project management processes including RFIs, submittals, change management, and reporting.
- Provide leadership to field operations, including logistics, crane and equipment planning, sequencing, and phased occupancy.
- Ensure compliance with applicable municipal, regulatory, legal, and environmental requirements.
- Oversee permitting and maintain productive relationships with municipalities, inspectors, authorities having jurisdiction, consultants, trades, and industry partners.
- Establish meaningful performance benchmarks and use data to continuously improve budget, schedule, quality, and risk outcomes.
- Evaluate new construction products, systems, technologies, and methodologies before implementation.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate is currently operating as a Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, Project Director, or comparable senior construction leader within high-rise residential construction.
You will ideally bring:
- A construction-related degree, diploma, or equivalent technical training.
- Approximately 8–15+ years of progressive construction experience, including leadership responsibility on large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-rise residential construction projects.
- At least two high-rise projects completed as the lead Project Manager or equivalent, with direct involvement throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Pre-construction and planning
- Budgets and cost control
- Scheduling
- Design completion and coordination
- Procurement and contract administration
- Monthly progress draws and financial reporting
- Construction execution
- Phased occupancy
- Turnover and project close-out
- Experience working directly for a residential developer is considered a strong asset.
- A strong understanding of construction safety, scheduling, quality assurance, contracts, and risk management.
- Proven experience leading, developing, and holding construction teams accountable.
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining close enough to the work to identify and resolve project-level issues.
- Strong commercial judgment, planning capabilities, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- The ability to build credibility with executives, consultants, trades, municipal stakeholders, and construction teams.
- A track record of anticipating and effectively managing delays, disruptions, competing priorities, and complex project challenges.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
For the right construction leader, this represents an opportunity to move beyond managing individual projects and have a meaningful impact on an organization's broader construction platform.
The successful candidate will benefit from:
- A 15+ year pipeline of high-rise residential development projects.

- Comprehensive health and dental benefits.
