Contents Manager, Restoration
Job Summary:Our client provides top tier services to all forms of customers in the property restoration industry, from Insurance Companies to Large Commercial organizations. We have a reputation for providing quality services to our customers, in a timely manner.
As a Contents Specialist, you play an integral role assisting us in maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality service with our clients.
- Assist in mitigation and remediation activities such as contents handling, contents listing, contents cleaning, and moving & re-setting contents.
- Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to other team members to ensure all jobs are completed in an effective and timely manner.
- Ensure new Technicians are trained on contents handling policies and procedures.
- Monitor equipment and vehicle supply requirements and liaise with the Warehouse to ensure adequate tools and supplies are on hand at all times.
- Ensure customer service excellence.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe job site at all times.
- Participate in the on-call rotation (this may on occasion include after-hours call-outs on evenings & weekends).
- Thoroughly clean smoke residue from contents and structures
- Maintain and organize content tracker for location and condition of content in the warehouse
- Ensure contents are properly and effectively listed, photographed, packed, cleaned, stored and returned throughout the restoration process as required (includes restorable and non-restorable content)
- Work with Management on staffing requirements for efficient turnaround of contents processing
- Work with the Project Manager, Project Manager's Assistant, or Project Coordinator to arrange for continued storage or return of restored content
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Project Manager Assistant, Adjusters and Homeowners for set-up of viewing and disposal of non-restorable items
- Obtain necessary sign off to allow for disposal of content
- Oversee and maintain use and cleanliness of drying and ozone room
- Launder cleaning of rags as necessary
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and
- information
- Practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
- Pack contents up with protection and care
- Provide post construction cleaning to prepare a house for occupancy
- Follow established procedures for cleaning structures/contents and handling of customer's possessions
- Keep job site clean and professional
- Complete daily paperwork
- 2+ years of contents handling experience.
- Strong mentorship and motivational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Clean criminal record as it relates to work.
- Valid driver's license
- Related IICRC qualifications (FSRT, WRT, HCT, CPT, OCT, CCT, etc.) are a valuable asset, but not required
- An interest in Health & Safety and First Aid.
- Cleaning/janitorial experience considered an asset
- Experience in construction/restoration considered an asset
- Able to take direction and follow pre-established guidelines
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Able to deal with clients under difficult circumstances
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Fit Testing for both half and full face masks, as needed. Annual certification required
- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
