This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment and enjoys taking designs from concept through production.You'll play a key role in developing and improving our product lines-ensuring designs are efficient, cost-effective, and built to perform in real-world conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop Norstar product lines using 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor)Translate concepts into detailed production-ready designs, including: drafting and dimensioning and performing basic analysis (e.g., FEA/stress considerations)Create accurate production drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)Optimize designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiencyCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and sales teamsProvide design support to production, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issuesContribute to continuous product improvement and innovation initiativesPartner with the Design Team to support shared goals and project timelinesAdhere to company safety standards, policies, and proceduresWhat We're Looking ForHands-on experience with 3D CAD design (Autodesk Inventor required not AutoCAD)Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design principlesProficiency in Microsoft Office and technical design softwareAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teamsProfessional, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindsetNice to Have:Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma (or equivalent experience)Experience in grain handling equipment or agricultural manufacturingBackground in both design and manufacturing environmentsWhy Join Norstar Industries?Competitive Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 CAD, based on experience and technical proficiency (particularly with Autodesk Inventor and manufacturing design)Stable, full-time opportunity with consistent weekday scheduleWork on tangible, real-world products used across the agricultural industryCollaborative team environment with strong operational supportOpportunity to contribute to product innovation and continuous improvementHow to ApplyIf you're a motivated Mechanical Designer looking to make an impact in a growing manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today with your resume and a brief overview of your relevant experience.
