Our client, a longstanding industrial manufacturing and distribution company based in Edmonton, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk (A/R Clerk) to join their team. This opportunity is a great fit for someone who has worked within manufacturing and has AR/AP experience. As this organization continues to expand, there will be growth opportunities within it.

Position Overview:

  • The A/R Clerk will play a key role in supporting the company's day-to-day accounting operations, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, collections, and progress billings. Working closely with Project Managers, Inside Sales, and the Purchasing team, this position helps ensure timely invoicing, accurate payment processing, and strong cash flow management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating across departments in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliations.
  • Follow up with customers to collect outstanding balances and maintain healthy accounts receivable aging.
  • Prepare and process progress billings in accordance with project milestones and contract requirements.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate billing, payment tracking, and project financial support.
  • Support accounts payable functions, including processing vendor invoices and coordinating payments.
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales and Purchasing teams to resolve billing discrepancies and support day-to-day accounting activities.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot tables & VLOOKUPs), Word, and Outlook.

Like To Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Working toward or holding a CPA designation.
  • Experience with ERP (Rootstock) or accounting software.
  • Exposure to, or an understanding of, full-cycle accounting from transaction entry through financial reporting.
