Structural Lead | Build, Lead & Shape a Growing Structural Practice
Calgary, Alberta | Relocation Opportunity | Leadership | Future Principal

We're partnering with a well-established multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm that is investing heavily in the growth of its Calgary office. They are looking for a Structural Lead who wants more than project delivery. They're looking for someone who wants to influence strategy, build a team, develop client relationships, and establish a lasting presence in the Alberta market.
This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial structural engineer who enjoys leading people, driving business growth, and working closely with ownership to shape the future of a structural division. With strong backing from an established multidisciplinary team, you'll have the autonomy to build the practice while leveraging existing client relationships and internal support.
For the right individual, there is a clear pathway to Principal within 12 months, along with the opportunity to become a key leader within the organization.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the growth and expansion of the Structural Engineering division in Calgary.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing structural team.
- Take ownership of project delivery, quality assurance, budgeting, and client satisfaction.
- Strengthen existing client relationships while developing new business opportunities throughout Alberta.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and multidisciplinary teams on notable projects across Western Canada.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Play an active role in the firm's strategic growth plans and future leadership initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- 10–15+ years of structural consulting engineering experience.
- P.Eng. designation (APEGA or eligible).
- Strong technical expertise in structural building design (steel, concrete, timber, and masonry).
- Experience delivering commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
- Proven leadership experience mentoring engineers and managing project teams.
- Business development experience and the ability to foster long-term client relationships.
- Existing Alberta network is considered a significant asset.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with aspirations toward senior leadership.
