Lead Hand – Warehouse & Client Operations

Graphic Transportation Services Inc. is looking for a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Lead Hand to support our warehouse operations. This role is ideal for someone with warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and can confidently balance hands-on work with client communication and administrative responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, count, sort, tag, and store inbound merchandise.
• Update inventory systems and maintain accurate stock records.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders, including kit making and rush orders.
• Create Purolator shipping labels and prepare cartons/skids for shipment.
• Stage completed orders for loading and process small mail orders.
• Process returns, restock merchandise, and assist with scheduled inventories.
• Maintain accurate records for month-end billing, skid counts, and order counts.
• Track shipments and provide updates to clients as required.
• Communicate daily with clients, vendors, warehouse staff, and management by phone and email.
• Participate in client conference calls and help resolve operational issues.
• Ensure quality control standards are met and damaged product is not shipped or accepted.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and work environment.
• Monitor supplies and maintain organized files and documentation.
• Follow all Health & Safety requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing, or distribution is an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, accountable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable making decisions and taking initiative.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lift cartons weighing up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with clients.

Working Conditions

• Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on business needs.
• Occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required.
• Ability to work up to 45 hours per week when required.
