Sheet Metal Worker

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker / HVAC Duct Installer to join our growing mechanical team in Mississauga.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled 308A Sheet Metal Worker, HVAC Installer, Duct Installer, or experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic who can work independently and take pride in quality workmanship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, modification and repair of HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems on commercial and construction projects throughout the GTA.

Experienced sheet metal workers and advanced apprentices are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and install HVAC sheet metal and ductwork systems
• Install supply, return and exhaust air duct systems
• Read and interpret HVAC drawings, blueprints and shop drawings
• Measure, cut, bend and form sheet metal accurately
• Install duct fittings, dampers, grilles, diffusers and related HVAC components
• Seal, insulate and support ductwork according to project specifications
• Perform modifications, repairs and adjustments to existing ductwork
• Use hand tools, power tools and sheet metal fabrication equipment safely
• Work with forepersons, HVAC technicians and other trades to coordinate installations
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
• Follow all applicable Ontario construction, safety and company procedures
• Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of sheet metal / HVAC installation experience preferred
• 308A Sheet Metal Worker certification is an asset
• 308R or related sheet metal experience considered
• Strong experience with commercial HVAC ductwork installation
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Strong measuring, layout and fabrication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good understanding of construction site safety
• Valid driver's licence is an asset
• Reliable transportation to job sites is preferred
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team

Compensation

$35.00–$40.00 per hour

Starting rate will be determined based on sheet metal experience, technical ability, certification and ability to work independently.
