Position Summary
The Senior Technical Delivery Manager will lead application-readiness coordination for a new retail store opening. The role will serve as the portfolio lead's hands-on program partner, establishing a reliable view of the current landscape and driving multiple applications toward production readiness. This person will coordinate application managers and cross-functional dependency teams, manage the critical path, maintain governance and provide clear executive-level reporting in a compressed delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities

· Program mobilization: Rapidly assess the existing landscape, plans, documentation, risks, stakeholders and delivery status; identify gaps and establish an integrated control structure.

· Integrated planning: Build and maintain a workback plan from the production-readiness milestone, covering configuration, application-readiness testing, integration testing, production validation, training and hypercare dependencies.

· Application readiness: Coordinate readiness across approximately 74 applications and the managers accountable for their respective application areas.

· Critical-path management: Identify prerequisite activities—such as master-data setup—and ensure that dependency commitments are achieved before downstream configuration or testing is affected.

· Cross-functional coordination: Work with merchandising, finance, supply chain, master data, technology, business teams and other partners to secure dates, resolve blockers and maintain alignment.

· Governance and reporting: Prepare consolidated status reporting, facilitate governance forums and communicate risks, decisions and required actions to managers, directors and senior business and IT leaders.

· Risk and escalation: Identify emerging schedule or readiness risks early, coordinate recovery actions and escalate unresolved dependencies with clear impact analysis and recommendations.

· Program controls: Maintain the portfolio charter, scope, RAID log, stakeholder map, application inventory, manager-level checklists, decisions, dependencies and milestone evidence in line with DMO guidelines.

· Playbook development: Create reusable store-opening artifacts, checklists and lessons learned because prior internal documentation and experienced store-opening resources are limited.

· Hypercare support: Coordinate post-production validation, operational readiness and hypercare through the store-opening period and any approved extension.

RequirementsExperience

· Senior-level experience managing complex technical projects or programs involving multiple applications, delivery teams and cross-functional dependencies.

· Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an initiative already in progress, rapidly establish the true status and create an executable recovery or delivery plan.

· Strong understanding of application delivery lifecycles, including configuration, environment and data dependencies, readiness testing, integration testing, production deployment and hypercare.

· Proven experience identifying, maintaining and communicating a critical path and translating dependency slippage into schedule and business impact.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication, including experience presenting to managers, directors, senior directors and executive stakeholders.

· Strong stakeholder-management, facilitation, negotiation, follow-up and escalation skills across business and IT teams.

· Experience maintaining program-management artifacts such as charters, integrated schedules, RAID logs, RACI models, governance packs, decision logs and executive status reports.

· Highly proactive, organized and hands-on, with the judgment to operate independently in an ambiguous and time-sensitive environment.

Preferred Qualifications

· Program or project management experience within retail.

· Experience supporting a new store opening, retail-site launch or comparable operational go-live.

· Experience coordinating a large application portfolio and cross-functional teams such as merchandising, finance, supply chain and master data.

· Relevant program/project-management certification or equivalent delivery experience.

· Experience working within an enterprise DMO/PMO governance framework.

Salary Range: CAD $115,000 - $120,000/year
