The Occupational Therapy Assistant supports patients' rehabilitation by implementing therapy plans developed by occupational therapists. Working within a medium-sized team of 6-15 members across six clinics, the assistant helps deliver therapeutic exercises, monitors progress, documents outcomes, and provides patient education. This role reports to both Occupational Therapists and Clinical Supervisors and may involve occasional travel for community outreach. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.

Responsibilities

  • Support patient rehabilitation under therapist guidance
  • Implement therapy plans and therapeutic exercises
  • Monitor and document patient progress and outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists and clinical supervisors
  • Provide patient education on therapy goals and activities
  • Assist with feeding support as part of therapy
  • Participate in occasional community outreach travel

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in patient care and rehabilitation techniques
  • Knowledge of therapeutic exercises
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Effective time management and documentation abilities
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with pediatrics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
