Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the operator are to keep a cell of grinders set up and in cycle. These responsibilities are not limited to this cell and successful candidate should be flexible to perform other tasks based on customer and company needs.
Job Duties:
- Setup and run grinders including dressing the wheel
- Examine materials to ensure conformance to established standards
- Perform minor equipment maintenance
- Comply with standards and procedures
- Complete required paperwork as necessary
- Keep up on consumables and other fixturing requirements
- Operating multiple machines simultaneously
Requirements:
- High School education and 1-2 years of related experience preferable
- Understanding of precision manufacturing tools and their proper use
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Good mathematical skills, understanding measurements down to thousands of an inch
- Knowledge of GD&T symbols and tolerancing along with basic blueprint reading
- Ability and willingness to follow directions and work independently
- Good verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and the ability to work in a highly motivated tea driven environment
- Understanding how to use a micrometer, caliper and measuring tape as asset
- Understanding how to use an overhead crane with lifting devices such as slings, chains and magnets an asset.
PPE Requirements:
To ensure safety in this role, employees are required to wear safety glasses, and safety shoes when working in this area. These items protect you from eye and foot injuries that result from debris and heavy objects. Employees are responsible for using, maintaining, and inspecting their PPE for damage before each shift. Any missing or damaged PPE should be reported to their supervisor and replaced.
