General Labour - Buffing and Grinding

Our client in Ayr has an opening for General Labour in their custom steel shop. Main duties will be to buff and grind custom metal parts. In addition, you could also be asked to help with the following duties:

• Shipping: Packing orders onto skids.
• Material Handling: Unload and mark finished products from cutting tables, ensuring they are loaded directly onto skids when appropriate.
• Cleaning Parts: Scrapping, hand grinding, and chipping slag from finished products to prepare for shipment.
• Housekeeping: Sweeping, collecting wood and debris from aisles, truck bays, and inventory areas.
• Maintenance: Participate in weekly plant and machine maintenance, including dumping slag trays, changing table slats, and other tasks as assigned.

Previous experience with hand tools, specifically hand grinders, is preferred. Forklift experience is an asset.
