The OpportunityThis position involves a balance of technical leadership, advanced analysis, and project delivery. You will play a key role in both design and execution phases, working alongside experienced professionals on a range of challenging projects in Canada and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support engineering studies for operating sites and development projects
- Conduct rock mass classification and define geomechanical domains
- Perform stability analyses for slopes and underground excavations
- Develop and assess ground performance monitoring systems and instrumentation data
- Manage project deliverables including scope, timelines, and coordination
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal tools and engineering practices
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members
- Participate in site visits and travel as required
- Degree in Geological, Mining, or Civil Engineering (graduate degree in rock mechanics is an asset)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada or eligible
- 10+ years of experience in rock mechanics, preferably within mining or civil projects
- Strong background in geotechnical and rock mechanics design and analysis
- Experience with:
- Rock mass classification systems
- Slope and underground excavation stability
- Instrumentation and performance monitoring
- Technical reporting and design documentation
- Project management experience is an asset
- Valid driver's license
