Grader Operator

The Grader Operator plays a key role in road construction and maintenance, responsible for completing both rough and fine grade finishing. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong understanding of grade and slope, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, and works well both independently and as part of a team.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform daily maintenance and equipment inspections, including cleaning and greasing equipmentSafely and skillfully operate a grader on public and private construction sitesUnderstand and work with grade and slope requirementsRead and interpret plans and follow survey markersCommunicate with surveyors, supervisors and crewAdjust and control the grader blade to achieve required grade and finishComply with ground disturbance regulationsMaintain accurate grade and finish within required tolerancesMonitor finished work to ensure quality standards are metPerform excavating, backfilling and site clean upAssist with labour tasks as requiredFollow safe work procedures and company safety practicesQualificationsExperience operating a grader, including gravel road maintenance and finishingAbility to read and interpret grade stakes, plans and survey markingsPhysically fit and capable of manual labour tasksBasic mechanical knowledge and the ability to identify equipment issuesExperience with road construction projects is an assetStrong attention to detailValid Class 5 driver's licenseCurrent driver's abstract (required prior to hire)What We OfferCompetitive wages based on experienceBenefitsProfit sharingCompany Share Ownership ProgramOngoing training and developmentOpportunities for advancementSteady work during the construction seasonMany of our leaders started in field or entry level roles and we believe strongly in promoting from within.
