Job Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, sourcing, assessing, and hiring top talent to support the organization's strategic objectives. Working closely with hiring managers, the Recruiter manages the full recruitment lifecycle, delivers an exceptional candidate experience, promotes the employer brand, and supports onboarding initiatives. This role also contributes to recruitment reporting, talent pipeline development, and continuous improvement of recruitment processes and systems.
Duties and responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce planning needs, define position requirements, and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Create, update, and manage compelling job postings and job descriptions that accurately reflect role requirements and organizational culture.
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, professional networks, employee referrals, recruitment agencies, community organizations, educational institutions, and career fairs.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Coordinate and participate in career fairs, networking events, and employer branding initiatives; manage event logistics, promotional materials, and post-event follow-up.
- Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including posting positions, reviewing applications, advancing candidates, maintaining accurate records, and responding to recruitment inquiries.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone and virtual interviews, coordinate interview schedules, and participate in interviews as required.
- Conduct reference checks and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, compliance clearances, drug testing, and assessment tools.
- Extend employment offers and coordinate all pre-employment documentation.
- Facilitate new employee onboarding and first-day orientation, ensuring a positive transition into the organization.
- Monitor recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, quality of hire, source effectiveness, and hiring manager satisfaction; prepare reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Promote employment opportunities across internal and external recruitment channels, including LinkedIn, Indeed, company career pages, and other relevant platforms.
- Provide guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, candidate experience, and talent acquisition systems.
- Assist with HR initiatives including employee engagement programs, training events, and special projects as assigned.
- Support HR systems by troubleshooting recruitment-related issues and providing user support to hiring managers and candidates.
- Maintain confidentiality of candidate and employee information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Ability to build partnerships with hiring managers and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS, and online sourcing tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment metrics and make data-driven recommendations.
- High level of customer service and professionalism.
- Adaptability and continuous improvement mindset.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of full-cycle recruitment or talent acquisition experience.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Preferably ClearCompany.
- Experience recruiting across multiple functional areas and levels is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of employment standards and recruitment-related legislation.
Work Location: Hybrid (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change)
City: Surrey
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 CAD
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
