Health and Safety Director

A leading construction organization is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Director to support a major project in Ontario. This position is responsible for guiding the project's health and safety strategy and ensuring strong performance across all phases of delivery.

The Role

As the Health and Safety Director, you will provide senior-level leadership for the project's health and safety program. You will work closely with project leadership and stakeholders to strengthen safety performance, manage risk, and promote a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety across the project lifecycle, ensuring safety remains a core priority.
• Develop and implement health and safety programs and prevention measures.
• Monitor performance through audits, KPI tracking, and assurance activities.
• Deliver training, orientation, and safety communications.
• Build strong relationships with client representatives, industry groups, and other stakeholders.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Promote a positive safety culture through visible leadership and coaching.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction industry experience in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with safety management systems and incident reporting tools.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
