Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Production Operator / Extruder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring mixers and extruders, maintaining product quality, completing production documentation, packaging finished products, and supporting a safe and clean production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor mixer and extruder controls and adjust settings to maintain product quality.
• Set barrel, die, and screw cooling temperatures for optimal production runs.
• Clean and prepare mixers and extruders before and after production runs.
• Transfer and dump flow bins for processing through the extruder.
• Operate extrusion equipment and record production data at required intervals.
• Weigh and package finished products and accurately record weights on production run sheets.
• Perform minor maintenance and line preparation as required.
• Operate a forklift to transfer finished products from the production area to the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.
• Participate in safety meetings and follow all workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain excellent attendance and reliability standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift certification is required.
• Previous experience working in a production/manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience in chemical distribution or plastics manufacturing is considered an asset.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Ability to follow detailed mixing instructions and technical procedures.
• Ability to work a weekly rotating continental shift schedule.
• Ability to lift packages weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs.).
• Comfortable with continuous standing and climbing stairs while operating the extruder.
• Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
• Must successfully pass a pulmonary fitness test.
