This role builds and owns core financial processes for budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and productivity tracking, while partnering closely with sourcing, supply chain, operations, and commercial finance teams. The position focuses on understanding the impact of inflation and deflation on input costs, influencing sourcing strategies through robust financial analysis, and delivering clear, executive-ready insights that support value creation and risk management within the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive analysis and reporting framework to clearly quantify and explain the impact of inflation and deflation on input costs.
  • Own procurement budgeting, forecasting, and latest estimate processes, partnering with sourcing managers to ensure accurate assumptions, financial integrity, and alignment with corporate planning cycles.
  • Lead monthly procurement financial performance reporting, including purchase price variance (PPV), productivity, days payable outstanding (DPO), and risk identification, acting as the primary finance business partner for procurement across ingredients, packaging, and indirect categories.
  • Conduct regular business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess financial performance, risks, and opportunities, and to recommend actions that improve results.
  • Influence sourcing and supplier strategies through detailed financial analysis, business cases, pricing models, cost scenarios, and supplier evaluations.
  • Control and oversee the financial aspects of procurement to ensure accurate reporting, effective productivity planning, and compliance with finance policies.
  • Deliver clear, concise, leadership-ready insights in collaboration with sourcing managers, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Liaise with the Commodity Price Risk Management team and relevant external partners to align on commodity exposure, hedging positions, and financial impacts.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment between Procurement, Finance, and the broader business regarding financial results, key assumptions, and performance tracking methodologies.
  • Govern, validate, and track procurement savings, productivity, and DPO initiatives, ensuring compliance with corporate finance definitions, timing, and sustainability impact requirements.
  • Own the onboarding and training of new procurement team members on financial processes, tools, and activities to build financial capability within the function.
  • Provide commercial finance support for sourcing decisions, including developing business cases, building pricing models, evaluating cost scenarios, and supporting supplier selection.
  • Act as a business partner to procurement, supply chain, operations, and commercial finance teams to ensure strategies, initiatives, and financial information are accurately reflected in plans and results.
  • Support cross-functional and ad hoc initiatives across supply chain and logistics, including total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, optimization efforts, and value creation projects.
  • Formulate and produce executive-level communications and reports on commodity exposure, coverage, and hedge activities to support Sr. leadership decision-making.
  • Identify and remove process bottlenecks, champion continuous improvement, and proactively seek opportunities to streamline and enhance financial and procurement processes.
  • Lead the month-end close process for procurement-related journal entries, ensuring all entries and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Ensure Blackline reconciliations, where required, are sufficient, complete, and properly documented.
  • Lead the procurement productivity tracking process, ensuring project-level transparency to the profit and loss (P&L) and clear linkage to financial results.
  • Support forecasting and the annual productivity budget process, ensuring that procurement initiatives are accurately reflected in budgets and outlooks.
  • Drive and contribute to special projects as required, providing financial expertise and analytical support to strategic initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience in budgeting, including ownership of procurement budgets and alignment with annual operating plans.
  • Proven ability to manage forecasting processes and latest estimates for procurement and supply chain activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in annual planning and financial performance management within a procurement or supply chain context.
  • Hands-on experience in procurement finance, including working closely with sourcing managers and category teams.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain operations and cost drivers to support total cost of ownership and optimization initiatives.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills to build business cases, pricing models, and cost scenarios that inform sourcing decisions.
  • Strong variance analysis capabilities, particularly in purchase price variance (PPV) and other procurement-related metrics.
  • Deep knowledge of PPV and DPO and their impact on financial performance and working capital.
  • Practical experience with purchase price variance analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP for financial reporting, analysis, and procurement-related transactions.
  • Ability to produce executive-level communications and reports that clearly articulate commodity exposure, hedge positions, and financial impacts.
  • Track record of leading month-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Capability to govern, validate, and track savings and productivity initiatives, ensuring compliance with corporate finance definitions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills across procurement, supply chain, operations, and finance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Experience training and onboarding team members on financial processes and tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on removing bottlenecks and optimizing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare leadership-ready presentations and reports.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior exposure to productivity tracking and linking project-level initiatives to P&L outcomes.
