About the role

TheDirectorofMarketingistheVPsrighthand.WheretheVPsetsdirection,thisrolemakesitreal:campaignsthatshipontime,contentthatlandswithatechnicalbuyingcommittee,programsthatgetmeasuredhonestly,andateamthatknowswhatdonelookslike.Thisisanexecutionleadershiprolewithrealstrategicinputnotacoordinatorseat,andnotaseatwhereyoucanhidebehindstrategydecks.

Youwillbeaccountableforwhetherthemarketingplanactuallyhappens.

What youll own:

Executionandoperatingcadence

• Turntheannualandquarterlymarketingplanintoasequenced,resourced,datedoperatingplanandholdit.
• Runthemarketingoperatingrhythm:planning,standups,launchreadiness,retros.Surfaceslippageearlyratherthanexplainingitlate.
• ActastheVPsproxyincross-functionalforumswithsales,product,andrevenueoperationswhenneeded.

Demandgenerationandcampaigns

• Ownend-to-endcampaigndeliveryacrosspaid,email,web,events,andpartnerchannels.
• WorkwithsalesandBDRleadershiponpipelinetargets,buyerintentsignalframeworks,andfollow-updiscipline.
• MaintainHubSpotasthesystemofrecord;insistonattributionthatsurvivesscrutiny.

Contentandmessaging

• Directthecontentengine:whitepapers,battlecards,technicalblogs,casestudies,webcopy,andsalesenablement.
• EnforcemessageconsistencyacrossatechnicalproductwithasophisticatedaudienceCISOs,SOCmanagers,securityarchitects,andprocurementallreaddifferentthingsandneeddifferentproof.
• Protecttechnicalaccuracy.Incybersecurity,imprecisemarketingclaimsarefoundoutquicklyandexpensively.

GEOandsearchvisibility

• Owngenerativeengineoptimization(GEO)asafirst-classdiscipline:howD3andMorpheusarerepresented,cited,andrecommendedbyChatGPT,Claude,Perplexity,GoogleAIOverviews,andotherAIanswerengines.
• Buildandmaintainthestructural,schema,andthird-partycitationworkthatdetermineswhetherweappearinAI-generatedanswersandtrackitwithrealmeasurement,notvibes.
• CoordinateGEOwithtraditionalSEOandanalystrelations,sincethesethreenowfeedeachother.

Analystandthird-partyvisibility

• Supportanalystrelationsprograms(Gartner,Forrester,Omdia,GigaOm,andindependentresearchers):briefingprep,evidencepackages,submissioncycles,andfollow-through.
• Buildtheevidencebaseproofpoints,competitivedisplacementwins,benchmarkdatathatmakesthird-partyvalidationpossible.

What you bring

Required Experience

• 6+yearsinB2Bmarketing,withmeaningfultimeinthetechnologysector.Cybersecurity,infrastructuresoftware,orenterpriseSaaSpreferred.
• Demonstratedownershipoffull-funnelB2Bprograms,notjustonechannel.
• WorkingfluencyinmodernB2Bmarketingpractice:product-ledandsales-ledmotions,buyerintentdata,ABM,marketingautomation,attributionmodelling,andlifecyclemarketing.
• PracticalGEOexperience.Thisisahardrequirement,notapreference.YouhaveactuallydoneworktoinfluencehowabrandorproductappearsinAI-generatedanswers,youcanexplainyourapproach,andyoucandescribewhatworked,whatdidnt,andhowyoumeasuredit.Candidateswithouthands-onGEOworkwillnotbeconsidered.
• Strongtechnicalcomprehension.Youcanreadaproductarchitecturedoc,understandit,andtranslateitforsixdifferentpersonaswithoutflatteningitintomush.
• Hands-onproficiencywithHubSpot(orcomparable),analyticstooling,andCMSplatforms.
• Peopleandvendormanagementexperience.
• ExcellentwrittenEnglish.Youwillbeedited,andyouwilleditothers.

• Channel,MSSP,orpartnermarketingexperience.
• ExperiencemarketingintoEMEA,particularlyDACH,includingdatasovereigntyconsiderations.
