Our client is a leading global specialty geotechnical contractor that delivers innovative foundation and ground engineering solutions for complex infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. With a strong reputation for technical expertise, safety, and project execution, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects from project handover through construction and final closeout. This leadership role oversees project planning, financial performance, scheduling, contract administration, client relationships, subcontractor management, and field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position supports a major infrastructure project in Kitimat, British Columbia, and follows a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) schedule of 10 days on site followed by 5 days off. Flights, accommodations, meals, and camp are provided while on rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead projects through the full project lifecycle from project handover through construction and final closeout.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and exceed client expectations.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and construction plans while identifying value engineering opportunities, constructability improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects and project teams while driving productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Project Delivery team members.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor, supplier, and consultant agreements.
  • Coordinate the mobilization of labour, equipment, tooling, and materials to project sites.
  • Resolve technical issues encountered during construction while working closely with engineering and field teams.
  • Manage construction contracts, change orders, claims, payment applications, and client communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support tender preparation, prequalification submissions, and pre-construction planning.
  • Champion health, safety, environmental, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives across all project activities.
  • Provide visible leadership while promoting a culture focused on safety, collaboration, accountability, and project success.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager within heavy civil, geotechnical, mining, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex construction projects from estimating and pre-construction through project completion.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, procurement, and risk management.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, change management, claims, and project financial controls.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 10 days on / 5 days off Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) rotation to Kitimat, BC.
  • Comfortable working in a remote camp environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
