Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in constructing and assembling a variety of concrete formwork for residential and low-rise commercial projects, along with concrete finishing for a variety of styles. of The ideal candidate is safety-oriented, detail-focused and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct, assemble and install wooden, steel, and ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) systems for foundations, walls, and other structural elements.
• Prepare work areas by setting up forms, ensuring proper grading, and applying finishing materials.
• Pour, level, and smooth concrete using hand and power tools.
• Apply finishing techniques, such as troweling, edging, and texturing, to achieve desired surface finishes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and precision when measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
• Lead and mentor apprentices and labourers to maintain productivity and workmanship standards.
• Work closely with site superintendents to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Operate and maintain company power tools, hand tools, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect and adjust formwork to ensure structural integrity and compliance with engineering requirements.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot challenges and improve project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Carpenter Certification or Red Seal Certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in concrete forming and carpentry, preferably in residential and light commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of ICF systems, wood, and steel formwork techniques.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physically capable of performing heavy labour and working in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
