Shift: Afternoon Shift
Pay Rate: $44.00/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting tooling, dies, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment to support efficient manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with metal stamping dies, press equipment, and precision measuring instruments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, repair, maintain, and modify dies, tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot and repair tooling issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on dies and tooling to maximize performance and lifespan.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain tooling for stamping and press operations.
  • Inspect tooling for wear and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD specifications.
  • Operate manual machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and surface grinders.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Perform die tryouts and support production during tooling changeovers.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to improve tooling efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to resolve tooling issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications
  • Valid Tool & Die Maker Certificate (430A) or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in a manufacturing or stamping environment.
  • Strong knowledge of metal stamping dies and press operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting tooling and die issues.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with progressive and transfer dies.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Welding and machining experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and EDM equipment is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
