Our client is a well-established and growing mechanical contractor specializing in the design, fabrication, and installation of high-purity stainless steel process piping systems. They deliver complex projects across a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage, water treatment, automotive, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, and other highly regulated environments.Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join their estimating team. ResponsibilitiesAs the Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical and process piping projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Review tender documents, RFPs, contracts, and project specifications.
- Develop complete project estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Coordinate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.
- Prepare, review, and submit complete bid packages.
- Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and post-bid meetings as required.
- Support project handoff meetings to assist the operations team with planning and budgeting.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and bid documentation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and the estimating team throughout the bidding process.
- Starting salary of up to $95,000 annually (based on experience)
- Overtime paid at 1.5x after 44 hours per week
