Our client is an established CPA firm located in North York, providing personalized accounting, assurance, and tax services to privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, real estate organizations, foundations, and not-for-profit organizations throughout the GTA.

As the firm continues to grow and enters an exciting period of transition, they are seeking a Manager / Senior Manager to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA professional who enjoys hands-on client work, mentoring staff, and taking an active role in the continued growth and success of a growing public accounting practice.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of client engagements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a broad public

accounting environment and is looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing firm.

Beyond managing engagements, this individual will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the practice. The firm is looking for someone who is interested in long-term growth and has the potential to progress toward a future partnership opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of privately held clients across various industries

  • Oversee and complete audit, review engagement, and compilation files

  • Review financial statements and working paper files prepared under ASPE

  • Prepare and review corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns

  • Provide accounting and tax guidance to owner-managed businesses and private clients

  • Handle complex accounting issues and provide practical recommendations

  • Plan and execute engagements from planning through completion

  • Review work performed by junior and intermediate staff and provide coaching and feedback

  • Mentor and develop team members while supporting their professional growth

  • Communicate directly with clients, partners, and internal teams regarding engagement status and requirements

  • Assist with tax planning, special projects, and advisory-related assignments

Qualifications

  • CPA designation completed

  • 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience

  • Strong experience with audits, reviews, compilations, and tax engagements

  • Experience managing client files from planning through completion

  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting standards

  • Experience reviewing financial statements and working papers

  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior staff

  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with partners and team members
