Safeside.ca | Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton & the GTA
About SafesideSafeside.ca is a home security company serving Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton, and the wider GTA. We specialize in physical security fortification — solutions that stop break-ins before they happen, rather than just detecting them after. Our products include industrial-grade security window film, laminated glass, kick-proof door reinforcement, sliding patio door security, and safe room retrofits, all backed by a 10-year warranty on labour and materials. We're growing and looking for a skilled, detail-driven Installation Technician to join our team.
The RoleYou'll be the hands that deliver what our customers are paying for: a home that's physically harder to break into. You'll work from scheduled work orders — arrive on site, install to spec, and leave the site spotless. Because we stand behind every install with a 10-year workmanship warranty, precision and craftsmanship matter more here than speed.
This is a field-based role travelling to residential and commercial job sites across Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton, and the surrounding GTA.
What You'll Do- Install security window film (industrial-grade, 14mil) on residential and commercial glass — surface prep, precision cutting, bubble-free application, and edge sealing
- Install kick-proof door reinforcement: heavy-duty steel strike plates, wrap-around edge guards, hinge shields, and hardware anchored into structural studs
- Perform laminated / polycarbonate glass retrofits on high-risk entry points and storefronts
- Install sliding patio door security (Charlie bars plus film) and complete safe room retrofits (solid reinforced doors, upgraded hardware, frame fortification)
- Take accurate on-site measurements and verify materials against the work order before starting
- Work cleanly and respectfully inside customers' homes — protect surfaces, clean up completely, and walk the customer through the finished work
- Document each job with photos and notes, and flag any site issues or warranty concerns
- Maintain your tools, vehicle inventory, and material stock
- Hands-on experience in one or more of: window film / tint application, glazing, door and lock hardware, finish carpentry, or general renovation work (security industry experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
- A precise, patient working style — film application and door hardware alignment are unforgiving of shortcuts
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (required — daily driving across the GTA)
- Comfortable working in occupied homes and interacting professionally with customers
- Physically capable: lifting glass panels and doors, working on ladders, kneeling, and using hand and power tools throughout the day
- Own basic hand tools an asset; specialized film and installation equipment provided
- Willing to be trained and certified on our installation methods — we'll teach you our standards
- $20.00 – $25.00 CAD per hour
- Paid training on all Safeside products and installation methods
- Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week
