Job Title: Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Manufacturing
Location: Southwestern Ontario (South-West Middlesex County)
Work Type: Full-time, Permanent (Hybrid flexibility available)
About Our Client:
Our client is an established, high-growth manufacturer of heavy equipment and agricultural machinery in Southwestern Ontario. Operating across multiple production facilities for over two decades, they have built a reputation for durable products, operational efficiency, and a practical, hands-on workforce.
They value real-world problem-solving, team accountability, and continuous improvement—offering an energetic environment free from corporate bureaucracy where high performers truly thrive.
The Opportunity:
We are searching for a dynamic, business-minded HR Business Partner who views human resources as a strategic driver of operational performance, not just an administrative function.
In this full-scope, hands-on leadership role, you will support all facets of the employee life cycle across two manufacturing plants. You will oversee payroll, talent acquisition, workforce relations, health & safety administration, compliance, and HR systems while partnering directly with plant management to solve daily operational challenges and strengthen the organization.
This position is ideal for an autonomous HR leader who enjoys spending time on the shop floor, building authentic connections with crew members and supervisors, and implementing practical solutions that boost both workplace culture and business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Partnership: Work side-by-side with Operations Leadership on manager coaching, leadership development, performance management, and constructive accountability.
- Talent Acquisition: Direct full-cycle recruitment across hourly shop-floor and salaried roles without relying on external hand-offs or rigid corporate recruitment scripts.
- Payroll & HR Operations: Oversee bi-weekly payroll administration, benefits, attendance tracking, and employee record management with precision and discretion.
- Employee Relations & Workplace Culture: Foster high engagement; act as a trusted, approachable liaison for managers, production staff, and executive leadership.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Oversee H&S records, joint health & safety committee (JHSC) activities, WSIB claims management, and ensure practical alignment with employment legislation.
- HR Systems & Process Improvement: Utilize HRIS software (BambooHR) and performance/culture platforms to track custom workforce metrics, streamline workflows, and drive data-backed decisions.
What We're Looking For:
- Business-First Mindset: You think like an operational partner first and an HR specialist second, leveraging people strategy to improve bottom-line performance.
- Self-Managed & Entrepreneurial: You thrive in agile environments where you take full ownership, build efficient processes, and execute without needing rigid handbooks.
- Practical & Adaptable: You build trust through open communication, sound judgment, and genuine care for team members rather than enforcement of rigid policies.
- Background: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
- Systems Competency: Proficiency with HRIS platforms (BambooHR preferred), payroll processing workflow knowledge, and strong MS Suite & Excel skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 annually, aligned with experience and capabilities.
- Work-Life Balance: Genuine workplace flexibility, including hybrid work options (1 day WFH following ramp-up) and adaptable schedule management.
- Generous Vacation: Matched vacation policy.
- Total Rewards Package: 80% company-funded health benefit premiums, DPSP retirement options, quarterly performance bonuses, and monthly expense stipends.
- Career Growth: Direct line to senior executive management with long-term vertical advancement opportunities.
