About CanadaWide Supply Store Ltd. (CWSS ltd.)

CanadaWide Supply Store Ltd. is an Abbotsford-based industrial packaging and supply company helping Canadian businesses reduce costs, improve packaging and source custom products.

We provide solutions such as:

  • Custom corrugated boxes and packaging
  • Custom die-cut foam and protective packaging
  • Shipping and warehouse supplies
  • Food and industrial packaging
  • Custom-sourced components and supply programs
  • Stocking programs for repeat customer requirements

We work primarily with manufacturers, food processors, distributors, warehouses, agricultural businesses, logistics companies and other industrial customers.

As the company expands, we are hiring an experienced field salesperson to build and manage a strong customer base across British Columbia.

The opportunity

This is a new-business-development role for someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, visiting businesses, speaking with decision-makers and developing accounts from the first conversation through repeat orders.

You will be responsible for building your own territory, creating qualified opportunities and converting them into profitable, long-term customer relationships.

This is not an order-taking or primarily work-from-home sales position. The successful candidate will spend most of the week meeting prospects and customers in person.

You will work directly with company leadership and our sourcing and purchasing team to develop competitive packaging and supply solutions.

What you will be selling

  • The initial focus will be on:
  • Corrugated cardboard and custom boxes
  • Die-cut foam and protective packaging
  • Shipping, warehouse and industrial supplies
  • Custom packaging programs
  • Repeat-use products that can be stocked for customers
  • Other custom-sourced products based on customer requirements

Some custom products may require samples, drawings, supplier development or an initial production lead time. The successful salesperson must be comfortable managing consultative sales cycles rather than relying only on immediate, off-the-shelf orders.

Key responsibilities

New business development

  • Prospect for new customers through telephone calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, networking and in-person visits.
  • Identify manufacturers, processors, warehouses and distributors that regularly purchase packaging and industrial supplies.
  • Develop relationships with purchasing managers, buyers, operations managers, warehouse managers, plant managers and business owners.
  • Build a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities and new accounts.
  • Attend local industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities where appropriate.

Customer needs and quotations

  • Meet customers at their facilities to understand their products, packaging processes and supply challenges.
  • Gather specifications, drawings, samples, dimensions, annual usage, order quantities, current pricing, delivery requirements and expected lead times.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce packaging costs, improve product protection or consolidate customer purchasing.
  • Work with internal sourcing and purchasing teams to develop suitable solutions and competitive quotations.
  • Present quotations clearly and explain pricing, lead times, stocking options and commercial terms.

Sales-cycle management

  • Manage the full sales process from prospecting and qualification through RFQ, sampling, quotation, negotiation, order placement and delivery.
  • Follow up consistently on quotations, samples and open opportunities.
  • Help transition successful first orders into repeat orders and stocking programs.
  • Maintain relationships after the first sale and identify additional products that CWSS Ltd. can supply.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure that customer expectations are communicated accurately.

Territory and pipeline management

  • Plan weekly customer visits and prospecting activity.
  • Maintain complete and accurate CRM records.
  • rack opportunities, next steps, estimated revenue and expected closing dates.
  • Provide realistic monthly sales forecasts.
  • Report customer feedback, competitor activity, market pricing and new product opportunities.
  • Maintain an organized follow-up schedule and demonstrate consistent sales activity.

Who we are looking for

Required experience

  • At least three years of successful B2B field sales, territory sales or business-development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally open and develop new customer accounts.
  • Experience managing a complete sales cycle rather than only receiving inbound orders.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to communicate with purchasing, operations and senior management.
  • Valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office while maintaining strong activity and reporting discipline.

Strongly preferred experience

Experience selling one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

  • Corrugated packaging
  • Custom boxes
  • Protective or die-cut foam
  • Industrial packaging
  • Food packaging
  • Warehouse or shipping supplies
  • Janitorial or industrial supplies
  • Contract manufacturing or custom-manufactured products
  • Products sold to manufacturers, processors, warehouses or distributors

An existing network of buyers, purchasing managers or industrial customers in British Columbia would be a strong advantage.

You may be a strong fit for this position if you:

  • Enjoy opening doors and developing relationships from the beginning.
  • Are comfortable walking into industrial facilities and speaking with decision-makers.
  • Know how to ask detailed questions before requesting a quotation.
  • Understand that custom-product sales may require several conversations, samples and follow-ups.
  • Can balance competitive pricing with profitable business.
  • Are persistent without being aggressive.
  • Follow through on commitments and keep accurate records.
  • Want an opportunity to build a territory rather than inherit a mature account list.

This position may not be suitable for someone looking for a primarily desk-based, customer-service or inbound-sales position.

Compensation

Base salary: $75,000–$100,000 annually, based on directly relevant industry experience, established customer relationships and demonstrated sales results.

Commission: 1%–2% of eligible collected revenue generated from qualifying new accounts personally acquired and developed by the employee.

Commission eligibility applies to completed, delivered, invoiced and paid sales, subject to the written commission plan and applicable gross-margin requirements.

Commission may continue for 12 months from the customer's first qualifying paid invoice. The complete commission plan will be provided before employment begins.

Vehicle and travel

The position requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory using the employee's reliable personal vehicle.

What we offer

  • Competitive base salary and uncapped performance-based commission
  • Direct access to company leadership
  • Purchasing, sourcing and quotation support
  • Opportunity to build and own a growing sales territory
  • Flexible home-office and field schedule
  • Paid vacation and time off
  • Product and sales training
  • Opportunities for increased responsibility as the company grows
