Production Supervisor (Rotational Shifts)

*MUST BE COMFORTABLE TO ROTATE BETWEEN DAYS AND NIGHT SHIFTS*

Rotations will occur monthly.

Responsible for coordinating daily production activities to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and safety in a hot dip galvanizing facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience related to the steel industry.
• Monitors operations for efficiency and safety.
• Ensures all regulatory requirements are met.
• Assists with production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.
• Performs the same work duties as those of whom they supervise and/or performs more difficult skilled tasks or assists in their performance.
• Oversees production staff, including hiring/training of personnel.
• Collaborates with production staff and upper management to solve work-related problems.
• Resolves personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances when possible or refers them to higher levels of management for resolution.
• Prepares and maintains employee records such as attendance and hours worked.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as the direct report for plant and lead personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Equipment Used:

• Operates equipment such as, but not limited to, torches, drills, forklifts, cranes, files, grinders, and calculators.
• Wears protective safety gear as required.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs.
• Knowledge of hand tools and equipment as described above.
