industrial installation, overhaul, maintenance, and turnaround projects. This is a hands-on leadership role
responsible for the safe, on-schedule, and high-quality execution of mechanical and precision work in the field — with a strong emphasis on epoxy grouting of equipment baseplates and foundations, and precision laser shaft alignment of rotating equipment.
We are hiring for both full-time permanent positions and project / TM assignments — please tell us which you are interested in.
Must-have experience for this role
▪ Epoxy grout — mixing, forming, placing, and documentation of grout pours for equipment baseplates and foundations.
▪ Precision laser alignment — laser shaft alignment of rotating equipment, with the ability to record and interpret alignment data.
Location: Western Canada — site-based (fly-in / drive-in project and turnaround sites)
Employment Type: Full-time permanent and project / Time-and-Material (TM) engagements
Schedule: Day shift, rotational and shutdown / turnaround rotations as required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and direct safe, productive, and quality execution of millwright scope, supervising crews of journeymen and apprentices.
- Plan and oversee epoxy grouting operations — mixing, forming / formwork, placing, and finishing of epoxy grout under equipment baseplates and foundations to manufacturer and spec requirements.
- Ensure proper surface preparation, forming, batch ratios, pour rates, cure times, and ambient / substrate temperature control on every grout pour.
- Own the complete and accurate grout documentation — batch records, product / lot numbers, temperatures, volumes, pour logs, and QC sign-offs for the turnover package.
- Direct and verify precision laser shaft alignment of pumps, gearboxes, motors, fans, and drive trains; verify soft-foot, runout, and final alignment tolerances and record results.
- Supervise installation, removal, and overhaul of rotating and fixed equipment — pumps, gearboxes, compressors, exchangers, conveyors, and packaged skids.
- Coordinate rigging, lifting, and equipment-setting activities and confirm they are executed to plan.
- Lead daily huddles, JSAs / FLHAs, toolbox talks, and a visible safety-first culture; enforce OCL and site HSE requirements.
- Plan the crew, coordinate manpower and materials, and complete daily LEMs (Labour, Equipment, Materials), timesheets, and progress reporting for T&M billing.
- Interface with clients and inspectors as the on-site technical and quality lead, and support the PM, project controls, and workface-planning teams.
- Required — Interprovincial Red Seal / Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification.
- Required — proven supervisory / lead-hand experience running millwright crews on industrial sites.
- Required — hands-on epoxy grout experience: mixing, forming, placing, and documentation.
- Required — demonstrated precision laser alignment experience (laser shaft alignment), able to interpret and record alignment data.
- Required — strong knowledge of precision maintenance, rigging, and equipment installation / overhaul practices.
- Asset — current safety tickets (CSTS / PST, Fall Protection, Confined Space, WHMIS, First Aid) and a valid driver's licence.
- Asset — turnaround / shutdown, oil & gas / heavy industrial / mining experience; able to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Asset — familiarity with dial-indicator alignment, vibration / precision balancing, and QA/QC turnover documentation.
- Competitive wages, LOA / subsistence and travel for site work, and premiums for turnaround / shutdown rotations.
- Steady work across a strong project pipeline with a company that values quality craftsmanship and safety.
- The choice of full-time permanent employment or project / T&M engagements.
