- Coordinate and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing across multiple industrial disciplines, including structural steel, piping, mechanical equipment, rotating equipment, electrical, insulation, and other specialty scopes.
- Prepare and review detailed project estimates for labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct and indirect project costs.
- Assess drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope gaps, commercial risks, constructability concerns, and pricing opportunities.
- Develop bid strategies by evaluating project fit, execution approach, risk, and profitability to improve the company's success rate on competitive tenders.
- Support proposal development by contributing execution plans, schedules, manpower forecasts, and technical content required for client submissions.
- Mentor and provide leadership to the estimating team while driving continuous improvements to estimating processes, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, and business development teams to deliver accurate, competitive bids that align with project objectives and company growth goals.
Must Have Qualifications:
- 10+ years of senior-level estimating experience in heavy industrial construction, including site exposure.
- Proficiency in interpreting drawings, schematics, PIDs, LDTs, and specifications across multiple trades.
- Strong expertise in structural, mechanical equipment and piping systems
- Proven experience leading estimating teams, assigning workloads, and effectively managing estimating deliverables. Experience preparing proposal documents (schedules, manpower plans, execution strategies).
- Experience with contract types including lump sum, unit rate, and T&M.
Why You Should Work Here:
- Competitive salary & bonuses
- Join a stable and expanding industrial organization
- Opportunity to build and influence a growing estimating department
