Electronics Technician

What will you be doing?
The Electronics Technician plays a key role in supporting the design, development, integration, testing, verification, and validation of MMIST's aerial delivery systems and supporting technologies. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, prototype development, and testing activities while contributing limited electronic circuit design for prototypes, test fixtures, and engineering support equipment. The Electronics Technician also supports Systems Engineering by assisting with system integration, verification testing, and data collection to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal performance requirements.
- Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits for prototypes, engineering demonstrations, and test equipment.
- Assemble, wire, and integrate prototype electronic systems and cable harnesses.
- Select electronic components appropriate for prototype and production applications.
- Assist with PCB assembly, bring-up, and debugging activities.
- Support design improvements based on test results and engineering feedback.
- Support electronic, subsystem, and system-level verification and validation activities.
- Configure and operate laboratory and field test equipment including: Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters, Programmable power supplies, Function generators, Logic analyzers and Data acquisition systems
- Execute engineering test procedures and document results.
- Perform functional, environmental, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot electronic hardware, wiring, and embedded systems issues identified during testing.
- Analyze test data and assist engineers in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Support integration of hardware, embedded electronics, sensors, software, and communications systems.
- Assist Systems Engineers in executing verification plans and validating system requirements.
- Participate in requirements verification, system integration, and acceptance testing.
- Help prepare test procedures, verification reports, and technical documentation.
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and integrated system testing where required.
- Assemble and modify electronic assemblies, prototype hardware, and engineering test articles.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate engineering and laboratory records.
- Update schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
- Record and summarize test results.
- Support Engineering Change Orders (ECs) by documenting design modifications and test outcomes.
What do we need from you?
- Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in an electronics technician role supporting engineering development. If that is within aerospace, defence, robotics, industrial automation, or embedded systems environment it would considered a very strong asset.
- Experience assembling, troubleshooting, and testing electronic hardware.
- Experience supporting prototype development, verification, and validation activities.
