Impact Chemistry's lab-based services provide our customers with chemistry-based solutions that lead to marketable products. Our creative and talented team execute technical projects for companies in the semiconductor, catalyst, battery and cleantech sectors.
We are currently recruiting a Controller in Kingston, ON with a flexible start date of Aug 15, 2026. This part-time position is estimated at 20-30 hours per week.

Controller
This role is accountable for the oversight of all financial, accounting, and reporting activities. This includes, but is not limited to, leading all day-to-day financial operations of Impact Chemistry, including accounts receivable, payroll, providing accurate, timely financial reporting to management as well as oversight of accounts payable.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable: invoicing customers and monitoring payments.
- Accounts Payable: reviewing Finance Clerk entries for accuracy & entering payables when required. Processing payments and bank wire transfers.
- Processing payroll, managing group insurance, pension, WSIB, EHT payments and annual reconciliations.
- Monitoring bank account balances, investments, and exchange rate movements.
- Monthly preparation and analysis of financial statements & reports.
- Preparation of cash flow forecasts.
- Preparation of annual budget.
- Effective management and mentoring of Finance Clerk
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in all aspects of accounting (GAAP)
- Post secondary accounting degree
- Deep experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and QuickBooks Online.
- Ability to quickly learn software programs such as QBO plugins. Previous experience with procurement software is an asset.
- Experience with annual audit preparations
- Keen attention to detail with an emphasis on accurate record keeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Currently legally permitted to work in Canada.
