Spotters use colourants to identify which surfaces are making contact, and which are not. Job Responsibilities:Prepare the tool for spotting both mechanisms and parting line, as appropriate.Responsible to heat up the mold and maintain proper temperature controls using a thermolator and to perform any handwork required for opening vents, mastering pockets, and stoning parting lines. Understand different plastic material properties and understand how that impacts the spotting process. Fitting and timing parting line straight and pressure locks is also the responsibility of the Spotter. Reviewing the steel conditions for defects, such as surface imperfections, or dimensional inaccuracies The Spotter must be trained to recognize quality issues and take corrective measures to maintain product quality standards. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and their colleagues.Maintaining accurate records of production data, quality inspection results, and any issues encountered during the spotting process. This documentation helps to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Job Qualifications:Minimum is a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent. Minimum 3 years of spotting experience with preference for those with multi-shot rotational tool spotting.Experience with vertical mill (Fly Cutting, Drilling, etc.), two shot compression, icing line seal off on lighting tools. Mold making experience, welding ability, and knowledge of tool build would be considered an asset. Keen observation skills and the ability to identify defects or abnormalities in steel that will carry over into the molded parts. Attention to detail is essential for maintaining quality standards.The ability to handle and manipulate small parts and perform manual tasks such as grinding and fitting.A strong commitment to workplace safety and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
