YOUR DAY TO DAY:
The Master Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules that align with customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. The role collaborates with production, supply chain, engineering, quality, procurement, logistics, and customer service to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Production Scheduling & Planning
- Develop, implement, and maintain production schedules (MPS) aligned with demand forecast and capacity.
- Adjust schedules for delays, equipment issues, or material shortages.
- Provide factory lead times based on availability.
Material & Resource Coordination
- Perform material availability/critical path analysis and reporting.
- Manage production kit readiness with Engineering and Operations.
- Coordinate kitting and staging processes.
Production Order & Execution
- Release and confirm production orders in ERP system (JD Edwards).
- Support shop-floor execution including WIP tracking and replacement parts.
- Maintain documentation for traceability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement, production, quality, logistics, and customer service.
- Maintain strong working relationships across key departments.
- Participate/lead inventory physical count (bi-annual)
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track KPIs (MSA, Stock Outs), generate production reports, and communicate risks.
- Identify and support scheduling and workflow improvements.
- Participate in improvement projects.
Change Management & NPI
- Participate in ECN processes to minimize material impact (CIB).
- Support Engineering/PMO during new product development.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain or related field.
- 4+ years experience in planning/scheduling.
- APICS/CPIM certification an asset.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems; JDE a strong asset.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
- Knowledge of forecasting, production processes, and capacity constraints.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
Must be able to meet all CGD requirements.
