Control Panel Shop Manager
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Control Panel Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Saskatoon control panel production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing shop employees, coordinating production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the daily activities of the control panel shop.

Plan and coordinate production schedules based on customer requirements and project deadlines.

Assign work to technicians and monitor project progress.

Review electrical drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and panel layouts.

Ensure control panels are assembled, wired, tested, and documented according to applicable standards and customer specifications.

Provide technical guidance and support to shop technicians.

Maintain high standards of workmanship, productivity, and quality control.

Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.

Coordinate material requirements, inventory levels, and purchasing needs.

Identify production issues and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency.

Conduct inspections and support testing and troubleshooting activities.

Train, coach, and evaluate shop employees.

Work closely with engineering, sales, purchasing, and project management teams.

Maintain accurate production records, job documentation, and progress reports.

Ensure the shop remains organized, clean, and properly maintained.
Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in control panel assembly, industrial electrical work, automation, or a related field.

Previous supervisory or shop management experience is strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.

Knowledge of industrial control systems, motor controls, PLCs, variable-frequency drives, and related components.

Familiarity with CSA, UL, and applicable electrical standards is an asset.

Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production or inventory management systems.

Electrical, engineering technology, or industrial automation education is an asset.
