We are currently looking for an Operations Supervisor for our Sherwood Park Terminal. The Operations Supervisor will oversee and supervise drivers, have a strong understanding of different types of equipment, and be a fast thinker with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate drivers to ensure smooth operations and on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and track the progress of drivers and equipment throughout the day, addressing any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Provide guidance and support to drivers, offering solutions and assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication between different teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver activities, including hours worked, delivered goods, and any incidents or accidents that occur.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure the well-being of drivers, equipment, and cargo.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Address any customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Our ideal candidate:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Proven ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to transportation management.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
