Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and leadership for construction projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project safety plans while promoting a strong culture of health and safety.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with design specifications, budget, schedule, quality standards, and available resources.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project objectives and identify value engineering opportunities that improve functionality, reduce costs, or enhance project schedules.
- Monitor project performance and prepare regular reports on safety, budget, cost forecasts, schedules, and overall project progress.
- Negotiate, award, and administer subcontracts and major purchase orders, including monitoring subcontractor performance and progress.
- Interpret, communicate, and enforce contract requirements and project documentation.
- Coordinate all project closeout activities, including documentation, inspections, and client handover.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster effective communication among project teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain positive working relationships and manage stakeholder expectations through timely and effective communication.
- Monitor design progress to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, constructability, coordination, and delivery schedules.
- Support the development and implementation of design management and quality plans.
- Participate in periodic design quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project objectives and applicable standards.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, including experience leading projects and mentoring team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with experience implementing safety programs and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, building codes, construction law, quality management practices, and industry standards.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and managing project risks and opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management and scheduling software.
