Site SuperintendentPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of multi-unit residential construction projects.Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Superintendent is responsible for leading all on-site construction activities while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily site operations from excavation through project completion and occupancy.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and inspectors.
  • Develop and maintain short-term construction schedules.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, applicable building codes, and quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and quality control reviews.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact project schedule or budget.
  • Coordinate required inspections and occupancy requirements with governing authorities.
  • Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, site instructions, RFIs, deficiency logs, and progress updates.
  • Monitor labour productivity and subcontractor performance.
  • Manage material deliveries, equipment, and site logistics.
  • Participate in regular project meetings with project management, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with project planning, sequencing, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
  • Mentor assistant superintendents, labourers, apprentices, and junior staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent on commercial, institutional, or multi-residential construction projects.
  • Experience constructing mid-rise wood-frame and/or concrete buildings is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site coordination.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Gold Seal Certification or working toward designation.
  • COR Safety training.
  • WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid certifications.
  • Experience using construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience delivering sustainable, energy-efficient, or high-performance building projects.
