- Lead all daily site operations from excavation through project completion and occupancy.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and inspectors.
- Develop and maintain short-term construction schedules.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, applicable building codes, and quality standards.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily site inspections and quality control reviews.
- Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact project schedule or budget.
- Coordinate required inspections and occupancy requirements with governing authorities.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, site instructions, RFIs, deficiency logs, and progress updates.
- Monitor labour productivity and subcontractor performance.
- Manage material deliveries, equipment, and site logistics.
- Participate in regular project meetings with project management, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, scheduling, and risk management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
- Mentor assistant superintendents, labourers, apprentices, and junior staff.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent on commercial, institutional, or multi-residential construction projects.
- Experience constructing mid-rise wood-frame and/or concrete buildings is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site coordination.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Gold Seal Certification or working toward designation.
- COR Safety training.
- WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid certifications.
- Experience using construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience delivering sustainable, energy-efficient, or high-performance building projects.
- Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and manage project teams.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Professionalism when interacting with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and trade partners.
- The ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
