Heavy Equipment Operator

Reports To: Foreman / Superintendent

Position Summary:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment used in earthmoving, roadbuilding, bridge construction, culvert installation, aggregate production, and other heavy civil construction activities. Operators are expected to demonstrate versatility and contribute wherever required to support project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, compactors, skid steers, and other equipment as assigned.
• Perform excavation, grading, trenching, drainage, and site preparation activities.
• Support bridge, culvert, roadbuilding, and infrastructure projects.
• Interpret grades, elevations, stakes, and site layouts.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and report deficiencies.
• Maintain equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Assist with general construction activities when required.
• Perform additional duties as required to support project operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with bridge, culvert, roadbuilding, highway, and infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of drainage systems, utility installations, and aggregate production operations.
• Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License considered an asset.
• First Aid / CPR certification.
• WHMIS training.
• Fall Protection certification.
• Traffic Control certification.
• Confined Space certification.

Preferred Operator Capabilities:

• Precision excavation to grade.
• Culvert, drainage, and utility installation expertise.
