Summary:

As a Production Electronics Technician, you will assist the organization to scale up our discrete manufacturing team. You will focus on product assembly, sub‐assembly of components, configuration, and ensuring that all units are properly integrated and thoroughly tested. This position is vital to the Transit Shelter team, helping ensure all products are built to the highest quality standards while following standard work procedures and contributing to the development and documentation of best practices for our growing manufacturing area.

The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment, is hands‐on, and spends most of their time on the floor, while also being able to work autonomously on daily tasks. Attention to detail, precision, and adherence to assembly standards are essential for success in this position.

The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

· Perform functional testing of the display, including electrical testing and embedded control systems.

· Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical, hardware, software, and network issues by reviewing technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagram.

· Conduct test plans, procedures, and scripts to validate performances.

· Imaging and preparing PC by installing OS, drivers, and required software.

· Configuring modems, cameras, routers for IP address, firmware, including network settings, port forwarding, and security options and conducting integral functioning with the digital display.

· Perform testing using multimeter, Luminance and Colour Meter (if applicable).

· Conduct life tests on assemblies, burn-in procedures, record data, and analyze results (if applicable).

· Complete checklist and maintain test records, logs, and detailed reports on system performance.

· Work with IT for cyber security guidelines.

· Responsible for population, wiring electronic components including LED modules, panels (cortex & load center), etc. into assembly frame (units).

· Utilize basic hand tools (manual and pneumatic) to assist with component installation (wrenches, drivers, sockets, rivets, etc.).

· Continual review for component or metalwork defects and report to production lead hand; responsible for component/cell level quality assurance.

· Verify dimensions and clearance of components to ensure conformance to production drawing and other specifications

· Provide feedback to engineering and production teams for continuous improvement.

· Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams.

· Daily follow up on implementation and maintenance of quality standards.

· Create comprehensive reports from daily collected data, document, and enter them into the ERP system.

· Follow and understand safety procedures and company policies including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Strictly follow health and safety procedures and protocols by working in compliance with OSHA, NEC, UL and CSA.

· Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

  • College Diploma or equivalent

· Completion of two-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology is an asset.

· Certification in electrical or electronics engineering technology or in a related field is available through provincial associations of engineering/applied science technologists and technicians is an asset.

Work Experience:

  • 3-years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry

Specific Competencies:

  • Experience testing electronic devices and in Quality Control
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Familiar with using personal protective equipment (glasses, gloves, etc.)

· Must be proactive and take accountability of assigned projects.

Work Conditions:

· Climate-controlled production‐floor environment with exposure to typical manufacturing noise and activity.

· Standing for extended periods and moving between workstations throughout the shift.

Physical Demands:

· Frequent fine motor work and manual dexterity for wiring, assembly, use of small tools/testing equipment, and regular computer use.

· Occasional bending, reaching, and repetitive motions during assembly, configuration, and testing tasks.

· Lifting or moving boxes up to 50 lbs. may be required.
