General Manager

General Manager – Women's designer Retail Store and Warehouse

Location: Toronto
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Starting Salary: $45,000 CAD annually
Start Date: Immediate

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and motivated leader to join our growing women's fashion business as our General Manager - Sales and E-Commerce. This individual will oversee both our retail store operations and online presence while leading and developing a team of approximately 10 employees. Brings strong leadership abilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, experience managing teams, and knowledge of human resources practices including recruitment, staff development, performance management, and employee relations with a proven track record.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the retail store and online business platform
• Supervise, mentor, schedule, and lead a team of approximately 10 employees
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, evaluate, discipline, and when necessary terminate employees in accordance with company policies and Ontario employment legislation
• Create and maintain a positive, professional, and customer-focused workplace culture
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve growth targets
• Oversee inventory control, merchandising, and product presentation
• Ensure online products, inventory, pricing, and promotions are maintained and updated
• Handle customer service concerns and resolve issues professionally
• Monitor staffing levels, payroll, and operational costs
• Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace safety standards, and applicable laws

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years retail management experience preferred, ideally within women's fashion or apparel
• Experience leading teams of 10 or more employees
• Knowledge of HR practices including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution
• Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify or similar systems considered an asset
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Organized, dependable, and able to multitask effectively
• Strong customer service mindset and positive personality
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Compensation & Employment Standards

This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour work week with a starting salary of $45,000 CAD annually.

Employment will comply with the requirements of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), including but not limited to:

• Overtime pay
• Vacation entitlement and vacation pay
• Public holiday pay and entitlements
• Meal and rest breaks
• Statutory leaves including pregnancy, parental, emergency, and other protected leaves
