IT/Communications EngineerJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and talented IT/Communications Engineer to join our Building Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will provide consulting and engineering services related to building communications and information technology infrastructure for new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial site assessments and concept development through detailed design, construction documentation, and project management. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and existing conditions assessments.
• Prepare technology assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering reports.
• Evaluate and recommend communications and network infrastructure solutions.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed engineering designs.
• Design structured cabling systems, telecommunications rooms, and IT infrastructure.
• Coordinate engineering designs with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare tender drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and project management activities.
• Provide technical support during tendering, construction, and project closeout.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical knowledge sharing within the team.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent certification such as Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
• Experience designing IT networks, structured cabling systems, and building communications infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience in engineering consulting, construction, or building systems design is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
