Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial site assessments and concept development through detailed design, construction documentation, and project management. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and existing conditions assessments.
- Prepare technology assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering reports.
- Evaluate and recommend communications and network infrastructure solutions.
- Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed engineering designs.
- Design structured cabling systems, telecommunications rooms, and IT infrastructure.
- Coordinate engineering designs with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare tender drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and project management activities.
- Provide technical support during tendering, construction, and project closeout.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent certification such as Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
- Experience designing IT networks, structured cabling systems, and building communications infrastructure.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in engineering consulting, construction, or building systems design is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
