Key Responsibilities
- Review RFPs, drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop detailed, accurate cost estimates for AV, CCTV, structured cabling, electrical, EV charging, door locks, HVAC, plumbing, and general contracting scopes of work
- Prepare material take-offs, labor estimates, and pricing for subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
- Assemble complete, professional bid submissions and proposals within client deadlines
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world constraints and site conditions
- Track and analyze historical project costs to refine future estimates
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and industry pricing trends
- Attend site walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings as needed
- Support contract negotiations and change order pricing during project execution
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an estimator in commercial construction, AV/IT infrastructure, electrical, or related trades (3+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of structured cabling, electrical, AV, or general contracting scopes is a strong asset
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Effective communicator able to work with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across the GTA and Ontario as needed
