SummaryThe Recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources, as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Recruiter plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent by developing and executing recruiting plans, networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees.
Specifically, recruiters are proactive about business needs, taking business trends into account when prescreening, interviewing, and testing applicants for job openings. They are required to maintain an extensive, up-to-date database of candidates available as needs arise. An essential element of this position is the ability to conduct effective interviews using competency-based models.

- Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations.
- Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Confer with management to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
- Maintain current knowledge of Pay Equity, human rights, and employment standards guidelines and laws when recruiting.
- Contact applicants to inform them of the status of their employment possibilities, consideration, and selection.
- Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility for specified licensing according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
- Evaluate recruitment and selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional, statistical, and testing standards.
- Develop and execute recruiting plans.
- Work with hiring managers on recruiting planning meetings.
- Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
- Any other projects or tasks as requested by the company.
- Degree or an advanced degree in management, or a field related to the transportation industry.
- Certifications or licenses appropriate to the transportation industry.
- Proven experience with resource management.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems.
