About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Estimator to join our team in Kelowna. This is an in-office position, five days a week, suited to a seasoned professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, well-researched estimates. With a strong foundation in place, this role offers genuine long-term growth opportunities for the right candidate.
What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor scopes
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate project budgets
- Conduct quantity take-offs and apply appropriate pricing using historical data, supplier quotes, and market knowledge
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
- Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, and clients throughout the pre-construction phase
- Identify project risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
- Participate in bid strategy discussions and contribute to go/no-go decisions
- Maintain organized bid files and contribute to post-bid reviews and lessons learned
What You Bring
- 7–8 years of estimating experience in the construction industry (ICI, commercial, or industrial preferred)
- Strong proficiency in quantity take-offs and a solid understanding of construction methods and materials
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Timberline, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting estimates and engaging with clients and trades
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset
