Job Title: Senior Labourer
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Labourer to support daily operations on an active work site. The successful candidate will assist the drill and blast crew, perform general site support duties, and help maintain safe and efficient operations. This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the drill and blast crew with loading blast patterns and related support tasks.
- Deliver water to drills and ensure water supply requirements are met.
- Install, inspect, and maintain road signage and traffic control devices throughout the site.
- Perform dewatering activities using pumps and related equipment.
- Transport crew members safely around the work site using company vehicles.
- Carry out general labour duties as required to support site operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment after use.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, site rules, and environmental requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
Additional Duties
- Perform all other duties as reasonably assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications:
- Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driving record suitable for site vehicle use.
- 5 years' experience labouring in mining, quarrying or construction environment
Experience / Skills
- Experience assisting drill and blast operations.
- Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial or mining/construction environment.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and performing manual labour in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working around heavy equipment.
- Experience assisting drill and blast operations is an asset.
- Knowledge of traffic control and road signage installation is an asset.
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
Compensation
The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $28 - $34 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
