The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for supporting general accounting functions with a primary focus on accounts payable processing and expense reporting.

This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, payments, and vendor records while supporting month-end and year-end financial activities. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts Payable Processing
  • Create, enter, send, and file purchase orders and invoices accurately
  • Maintain payment tracking and reconciliation spreadsheets
  • Process electronic transfers, payments, and cheque runs
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are current and accurate
Vendor & Invoice Management
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and misapplied payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all transactions
Reporting & Financial Support
  • Prepare reports and assist with financial analysis as required
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
  • Assist accounting team with bookkeeping and financial record maintenance
Administrative Support
  • Perform filing and general administrative duties related to accounting functions
  • Proofread documents for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and compliance
  • Support overall team operations and organizational needs as required
QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant accounting or accounts payable experience
  • Construction industry accounts payable experience considered an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May be required to attend meetings or presentations as needed
  • Frequent use of desktop computer and office equipment requiring manual dexterity
  • Occasional overtime may be required
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 25 lbs if necessary
