The Equipment Control Coordinator is responsible for supporting the visibility, performance, maintenance planning, and overall utilization of the company's equipment portfolio. This role works closely with Operations, Fleet, Sales, leadership, and external vendors to ensure assets are effectively tracked, maintained, reported on, and positioned to maximize productivity, revenue performance, and return on assets.

Location: North York, ONSchedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pmSalary: $60,000 - $80,000 annual rate, based on experience. Benefits include health/dental, retirement savings plan, and paid training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the company equipment portfolio
  • Maintain visibility of all assets and monitor equipment status
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboard (Power BI) for equipment status
  • Analyze asset utilization and revenue performance to maximize productivity and ROA
  • Track and report KPIs (Rev. per asset, utilization, idle/dwell time, maintenance, repairs etc.)
  • Produce asset performance reports for leadership
  • Identify/track underperforming assets
  • Work with Operations and Sales team to improve asset productivity and allocation
  • Analyze asset life cycles including depreciation, maintenance costs, and technological advancements to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate daily with the Fleet and Operations teams to schedule equipment preventive maintenance
  • Participate in a regular rotation with the Operations team to complete internal and external daily reports.
  • Coordinate with sublet vendors, issue purchase orders for sublet work, and follow up as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage sublet breakdowns.
  • Manage the scheduling of preventive maintenance and inspections with the shop and Operations teams.
  • Manage scheduling for major repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with external vendors.
  • Complete and manage the daily re-torque report process.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures
  • Use the TMW system in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience in equipment, fleet, asset management, transportation, logistics, operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret asset performance, utilization, revenue, maintenance, and repair data.
  • Experience developing or maintaining reports and dashboards; Power BI experience is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with business systems and data tools; experience with TMW or similar transportation management systems is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate schedules, follow up on maintenance and repair activities, and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, leadership, and external vendors.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to identify trends, recurring equipment issues, and opportunities to improve asset productivity and allocation.
  • Post-secondary education in business, logistics, supply chain, transportation, operations, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
